You can issue a refund on a deposit made into your trust account from two locations.
For example:
Click the Payments tab
Select the Transactions sub-tab
Select the trust account under the Bank Account filter
Apply Filters
Click View for any transactions paid or deposited into Trust
βClick the Refund button
βAdd the Refund Amount, Date and optional Notes
Click Refund
β
LawPay processes the refund and returns the processed balance to this client's trust account. The refund will be entered into the client's Trust Account ledger.
Note:
Offline means that this deposit was made for record-keeping purposes and should not be confused with an online deposit made via LawPay Payments
Deposits into trust can only be refunded once. Even if you do not refund the whole payment, you can only make one refund. The blue Refund link will be disabled for that transaction when a refund is issued against a particular deposit.
If a refund was issued in error, you can delete it. Find the ledger entry for the refund in the client's trust ledger, then click the blue Delete button. The blue Refund link will then re-appear for the original deposit, and you can either re-issue the refund for the correct amount or simply leave it alone.
