Deleting a payment made on an invoice

Overview

In LawPay Pro, you can only delete specific payments like from trust or offline payments.

You cannot delete credit cards or online payments to preserve the payment and transaction information record. These payments can be refunded.

Delete Trust Requests

  1. Navigate to Billing.

  2. Select the Trust Requests tab.

  3. Select the Contact for the Trust Request you want to refund.​​

  4. Select Trust History

  5. Select Delete.

  6. Confirm Deletion. Confirm that you would like to completely delete the payment from LawPay Pro.

Delete Offline Payment:

  1. Navigate to Billing

  2. Select the Invoices button

  3. Select the Invoice you want to refund by clicking the View button

  4. Click View History button to open the history section.

  5. Select Delete.

  6. Confirm Deletion.


Confirm that you would like to completely delete the payment from LawPay Pro. Please Note: The payment amount you are about to delete will be added to the balance due on the invoice.

Tip: LawPay Pro also has a Refund feature. Unlike the delete feature you just learned about, Refund lets you remove a partial or complete payment amount. Unlike the delete feature, Refund keeps a paper trail of the original payment with a notation that a refund has been processed.
