Payment Method Customization

Take control of your firm's cash flow by choosing exactly how clients pay for each invoice or funds request.

Overview

Payment method customization allows you to move beyond "all or nothing" online payments. You can now select specific payment methods (like ACH only or Credit Card only) based on the client, the matter, or to reduce processing fees—all while keeping the convenience of online payments enabled.

⚠️ Beta Feature Notice

Payment Method Customization is currently in a limited Beta phase. We are continuously improving this feature to provide more flexibility in how your firm collects payments.

  • Limited Availability: This feature is currently being rolled out and is not available to all customers at this time. If you do not see these options in your account, they may be coming to your firm in a future update.

  • Current Scope: Customization is applied per invoice, batch, or funds request. System-wide defaults for specific clients or matters are not yet available.

How to Customize Payment Methods

You can adjust these settings whenever you create an invoice or quickbill.

  1. Select Deposit Account: Choose the specific bank account for the funds.

  2. Filter Options: Under "Payment Options," simply uncheck the methods you do not want to offer for that specific request.

Don't see Pay Later? If you aren't set up with Pay Later yet, contact [email protected] to activate it for your account.

The Client Experience

Clients will only see the options you have "checked." For example, if you only support ACH/eCheck for a specific high-value invoice:

  • The checkout page will only display the ACH field.

  • Credit Card and Pay Later options will be automatically hidden.

Can I customize payment methods per client or case by default?

Not at this time. Payment method customization is only available per invoice or quickbill today.
