LawPay Release Notes

The latest updates and improvements to LawPay.

Updated this week

April 2026

Charge into Operating functionality.

Firms can now charge a payment directly to their operating account without needing to create or select an invoice. This simplifies the charge flow for in-office and scheduled payments, reducing steps while maintaining existing Trust and Operating account rules for compliance.

Invoice and Quick Bill Selection Portal

Clients can now select and pay multiple invoices or QuickBills in a single session. Trust and Operating payments remain separated for compliance.

Quick Bill Reference Field Improvements

Quick Bills now support reference-based workflows with no character limit, giving your firm the flexibility to capture complete payment details for easier tracking and reconciliation. You can also standardize invoice emails to keep client communications consistent and professional.

Partial Payments on Invoices and QuickBills

Firms can now choose whether to allow partial payments on invoices and QuickBills, giving clients more flexibility in how they pay while helping firms improve collection rates and cash flow.

eCheck Surcharge Support Added

eCheck surcharge is now supported, allowing firms to apply compliant surcharges without interrupting their billing workflows.
